Overall Objective: Hunger Free America's Summer Associate VISTA Program in partnership with Silver City Gospel Mission aims to create more food secure families and support access to nutritious food.

Silver City Gospel Mission, Summer Associate Job Description: While serving with Silver City Gospel Mission located at 111 South Texas Street, Silver City NM over the summer your activities will encompass nurturing our community garden, actively supporting our food pantries, and engaging in various hunger-alleviation initiatives.

Service Term: Summer Associate VISTAs can start service on either June 12^th or June 20^th for a 10-week period working a full-time schedule of 35 hours a week:

• Start date of 6/12/23 ends on 8/20/23
• Start date of 6/20/23 ends on 8/28/23

Benefits:

• Choice between the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,300 to be used to pay student loans or fund further education or a Cash Award of $276
• Living Stipend of $3,384.67 for 10-week terms paid in bi-weekly installments
• Professional Development Trainings

Qualifications:

• Interested in anti-hunger work that addresses the community's need for access to and education on nutritious foods
• Experience working with diverse communities
• Flexibility and willingness to work on different projects
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Reliable, organized, and communicative

Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old

Other:

• Summer Associate VISTAs are able to participate in part-time employment or educational programs while serving
