We accept all forms of community service (courts, welfare, sports, TANF, etc) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Feel free to fill out a community service form or bring your TANF paperwork in and schedule an orientation with the manager.

Community service hours run Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 1:30 pm when we close (this gives you 5 hrs per day or 25 hours per week if you are here the entire time).

We log your hours in the computer, the court verifies these hours and you are responsible for managing your court paperwork and meeting your court deadline.  Please make sure you have been assigned to the Mission by the court and do not lose your paperwork.

All community service workers will check in at the front desk when they report for work and check out when they leave.

We don’t allow cell phones and allow 1 fifteen minute break every two hours. We also give you the option of eating a free lunch in the soup kitchen. We require you to sign a work agreement and are a drug and alcohol-free workplace and reserve the right to not let you work here if you give us any problems.

What will you be doing?

You will be performing things like yard work, dishwashing, food preparation, clothes sorting, sweeping, mopping, painting, and sorting food so please dress appropriately.

If the court has ordered you to attend our formal community service program, you may be required to attend other events like classes, Christian lay counseling, etc (see list below).

It is a friendly place to work and many community service workers come back as volunteers because they enjoy the atmosphere and helping others so much.  But we do require you to work and you won’t be sitting around.

“The belly is an ungrateful wretch, it never remembers past favors, it always wants more tomorrow”
