In the past, we have had an emergency cold weather men’s shelter in the soup kitchen that, due to funding is only open during the winter months (Nov or Dec through March) if we can afford it (and for the 2017 year the Mission Board is currently exploring other alternatives).
Doors open at 5:30 pm and are locked at 8 pm. Men must vacate the shelter by 7:30 am and may return for breakfast at 8:30 am. Please call us at (575) 388-5071 for more info.
We are looking for suitable property, funding or an organization to assist us with a full-time family, men, women and children’s shelter. If you would like to find out more, please drop by for a visit or drop me a line.
We also have a permanent women’s and children’s transitional home which you can read more about here.
Thanks to a grant form Freeport-McMoran, we have homeless survival kits that provide some protection from the elements and The United Way of SW New Mexico has given us some funds to purchase sleeping bags and warm blankets.
If you or someone you know is homeless, please get with our case worker and we will try and get you a place to stay.
