No one is strong enough to face life alone. Reach out.”

Needing help — or trying
to help someone else?
We are here for you.

When life gets rough, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Whatever your situation is, there is no shame in asking for help.

Below is a list of the services we provide at the Silver City Gospel Mission. If you or someone you know is in need of support, please find us at our building in historic downtown. Talk to one of our friendly staff or volunteers; our job is to bring you help — along with a healthy serving of hope.

“I just need to talk to somebody.”

We have trained volunteer peer support counselors on duty Mondays and Wednesdays between 8:30 and 1:00pm. They are here to join you over a meal and offer a compassionate ear to whatever is challenging in your life or might be weighing on your heart.

Our case worker Marcia Johnson is available to connect our guests with essential services like housing and SNAP benefits. Her office hours are 10:00am-1:00pm Mondays through Fridays.

If you are without a mobile phone, our shelter can also help you make local phone calls.

Get housed and warm.

We’re working towards the dream of a future shelter that can take people in; meanwhile, we are grateful to be partnering with SPIN (Supporting People In Need) for our guests who need a place to be at night, especially during our coldest winter months. Shelters also operating in Deming and Lordsburg. Their number is (575) 494-1128.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it what I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I love, the more I live.
— George Bernard Shaw
And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.
— 1 Corinthians 13:13

“It’s not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person-kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely.”

— Leo Buscaglia
