The Salvation Army Saves The Day

downloadSanta Claus came early to the this year in the form of a large cash donation from the local Salvation Army.

This year they have donated enough money to cover both the Thanksgiving and the Christmas meals, as well as giving us funds to purchase turkey baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas and money for our annual 6th St Elementary / Head Start Christmas Party!

We have a small contingent of the Salvation Army operating in Grant County led by Pastor Tony Egan and they have helped us fund numerous services these past few years.

Each year you can see them faithfully ringing their bells in front of Walmart with their traditional ‘Red Kettle' and all funds raised in the County stay in the County and go to help groups like The , St Francis Associates, The Volunteer Center as well as various churches, organizations and individuals in need.

According to their website, “The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

So when you see their bell-ringing campaign at Walmart this year, please stop and say hello and give cheerfully, knowing that your funds will be going to help some good local .

It's help from marvelous groups like The Salvation Army and volunteers like you that make our small town the giving place that it is.

Thank you!
