Single Socks Thrift Store, located at 111 W. College Ave. in downtown Silver City has done it again with a grant for $4,000 to help out the Gospel Mission Food Pantry.
These funds are used in our food pantry where we hand out food to many of our neighborhood families and individuals on a daily basis. Many of these are hard-working families with kids who just aren’t making it and need just a little bit of help to make it through until their next payday.
I think Single Socks uses most, if not all of their profits to help fight hunger in our area and when you shop there, you can rest assured that your dollars will be doing double-duty.
First, you will be able to pick out that just-right outfit at a great price and Single Socks will turn right around and and donate to some awfully good causes in our area.
And you can rest assured that their Board of Directors does their due diligence. I’ve had to go through their grant process a few times now and they leave no stone un-turned, as they make sure their dollars will go to a worthy cause that will do the most good. In fact, next time you go shopping there, please check out the donation board they have on their wall and take a look at a few of the local charities they have helped with your shopping dollars.
So I urge you to check them out. Kathleen and Jeff run a first-class establishment and really care about making a difference in our small town and we thank them for it. These guys are doing some good things!
