It’s with great pleasure that I am able to report that Christina Wolford, our case worker has placed JB (not his real name) into a rehab program for his addiction problem.
A heroin user since the age of 12, he came to us and was having seizures from his problems at least daily and to make matters worse, when he came to he would run from the emt’s, fearing a possible stay in jail and many times he would injure himself further when he ran.
Many of the people we see have addictions so bad that they are unable to function in normal society. Unable to hold down a job, often homeless, spending their time between the streets and jail, there isn’t much we can do besides feed them, talk to them, pray for them and love them.
Most of the time with serious addiction problems like this, the only way they can recover is through serious professional or spiritual help and it is always a relief when they ask for it and actually follow through.
We have alcoholics and narcotics anonymous programs available for those seeking help, rehab centers may be available and we have a Christian-based program named Celebrate Recovery which meets every Tuesday night at 6 pm with Pastor Tony Egan at the New Hope Fellowship Church.
Please get in contact with us if you know anyone who is seeking help.
We wish you well JB and hope that with this program you can start to combat some of the demons that have taken control of your life.
