Last week, we received a donation from the students at Calvary Christian Academy for $600 in order to keep our cold weather men’s shelter open at least one more month until warmer weather hopefully hits.
The Student Council discussed it among themselves and they felt that the best way to spend their hard-earned money from their snack bar was to try and help others in need. Sure they could have used it for a trip, supplies or in other much-needed areas, but it brings joy to my heart that they thought the best way to use it was to help another human being in need.
I’m proud of these guys.
And the money didn’t come that easy either. It came one snack at a time, one student at a time, one day at a time and 50 cents at a time over the course of the whole school year.
If you get the chance, please thank this school for me and tell them that they are doing a good thing.
This school is one of the hardest-working groups I have seen in a long time and from the looks of things they are being taught and raised to know and serve God.
Thanks you Calvary Christian Academy!
